Music Lovers Keep Jahmali’s New Music ‘On Repeat’

Reggae singer Jahmali is cruising into the new year with fresh new content, which the masses are keeping “On Repeat.” Resonating with wide listening audiences, the vibrant “On Repeat” is bound to keep Jahmali in the music spotlight!

The latest effort from the legendary artist, which hails from his Roaring Ras Productions outfit and boasts a hard-hitting beat — courtesy of a friend’s uber talented 22 year-old son, is also a favorite among a cross section of respected radio DJs and sound systems in core Reggae music markets. Meanwhile, the newly released “On Repeat” is also garnering impressive international streams, with the lionshare in Asia and the Middle East, followed by the United States and England.

“They say the greatest things in life are for free, including the air we breathe. And no one wants a good time to end,” says Jahmali passionately about his new single. “So putting it ‘On Repeat’ is a an ode to the loving relationships we have with life, love and the special people in our lives.. these things come at no cost and we want them to continue forever.”

Dedicated to making music that dually entertains and elevates minds, “On Repeat” eloquently follows the course of Jahmali’s artistic mission. “My songs have always been noted for their universal themes and messages, usually conveyed with a more state-of-mind approach than through storytelling,” says Jahmali proudly.

Notably, the buzz of “On Repeat” sees Jahmali releasing a companion visual in the coming weeks directly to his new Vevo channel and across digital platforms. The visual is set to match the song’s “exciting, refreshing, danceable and different vibes,” Jahmali shares. The conscious talent indicates that “On Repeat” is just a taste of what awaits fans on his explosive “Pleasant Place” album, set for delivery in Spring 2022.

“On Repeat” is not all Jahmali has been musically cooking, as the earlier release “She Brings Joy” on the “Cool Runnings Riddim” is thriving on the Roots Reggae circuit.

Minister Marion Hall Releases ‘If I Was Famous’ Track

Kingston, Jamaica (Powerhouse Global Media) Minister Marion Hall (formerly Lady Saw) is in a reflective mode with her newest single, “If I Was Famous.” The self-produced track, which will officially be released on December 17, 2021, paints a stark contrast between her present life as an ordained minister and her past career as a Dancehall artiste.

“What inspired me to pen this track is the way I’m being treated now that I’m with Christ, compared to when I was ‘famous’. People used to be all over me, they’d pay a whole lot of money to see me, give me gifts and all these things. However, when I chose Jesus, everything has changed and some of the same people who supported me in the past have turned on me now. That’s why I wrote the song,” she explained.
As she describes, the beat was sent to her by God and she met with Clarky from Chromatic and several musicians that he had worked with before to lay down the track. From that, the lyrics flowed and resulted in a high energy, enticing track.

“The message that I would love for listeners to take away from this song is that you can magnify the name of the Lord in any genre of music. You can praise God while rapping, singing R&B, while doing Dancehall or Reggae; whatever genre it is, we have no limit praising God. Whatever music, whatever sound, whatever genre, let the name of the Lord be magnified. Praise Him in the Dancehall, praise Him in the clubs, praise Him in the church, praise Him in the streets, He’s all over,” she stated.

With her official debut as Minister Marion Hall in 2016, the seasoned artiste has taken a spiritual path, preaching the Gospel from the pulpit to the studio. She has released two albums – “When God Speaks” in 2016 and “His Grace” in 2018 – as well as several singles such as “Mi Soon Alright”, “From Mi Born (Obeah Man)” and “Mighty Warrior.” As she continues to build her catalogue, her next endeavour will be a brand new album.

“I’m looking for this song to be the door opener for the album that’s coming. Now that I’ve gotten the attention, people are assuming a lot of things like, ‘she’s coming back’ but Lady Saw will never be back; I will never be that person again but if I have to go into the Dancehall, the clubs, wherever God says to go, I’ll go. I may not understand what God is doing with this song and why God gave me all these lyrics but whatever He’s doing, I’m all in,” she expressed.

Distributed by Zojak World Wide, “If I Was Famous” will be available for purchase and streaming on major digital platforms online.

“The Barrel Tour,” falling at the heels of a string of monstrous releases from the duo, is set to hit several U.S. East Coast cities  during its first leg. Although the pandemic naturally put many things on hold, it did not cool the Badda General and ZJ Liquid musical fire. At last, an opportunity to safely offer live entertainment to fans has presented itself! The Badda General and ZJ Liquid team encourage promoters to contact them soon if there is interest, as dates are moving quickly.

“It’s now or never,” said Badda General. “For me, this will truly be my first time officially touching stages as ‘Badda General’ and I couldn’t be more excited.”

To add to the already blazing music pair’s line up, special guests will join their shows in select cities. With Badda General and ZJ Liquid’s artistic reach, “The Barrel Tour” promises to be a high caliber Dancehall event.

The entertainers, who are each successful on their own accord, amassed a huge, diverse following with their infectious style of reality Dancehall collabos in 2021! Offering social commentary through their humorous lyrical exchanges, the songs drew scores of listeners into the timely — and sometimes necessary musical conversations.

In addition to the wildly popular “The Barrel” single and remix, the Dancehall collaborators won over fans with buzzing songs like  “State of the Union,” “Curfew,” “Current Events J.A.,” “Trending News Jamaica,” “Con Artist,” “Barrel Riddim Saga” and “Cream Crackers.”  Viral sensations, spanning attention from the underground to sound systems, DJs, top media platforms, leading radio stations (i.e., BBC Radio 1xtra, Hot 97) and streaming giants (i.e., Tidal, Pandora), it’s no secret that the Badda General and ZJ Liquid formula works!

ZJ Liquid’s franchise role in the industry has served as the driving force of his bustling business in music.  Without question, ZJ Liquid is leaving an indelible mark on fans.

Kingston, JamaicaApril 2021 (Acclaim PR) — Amidst trying times, Reggae and Dancehall star Mr. Easy continues his mission to inspire the masses with music. His latest effort comes to us in the form of a remarkable visual for his current single “Conquer The World.” The moving music video is right on time, invoking communal, feel good vibes just when we need them.

Although the pandemic has truly affected the entertainment industry as a whole, Mr. Easy’s creativity has been unwavering, as evidenced with his groundbreaking “Legendary” album, which dropped near the close of 2020. “Conquer The World,” the second single from the notable Reggae project produced by Lord Kimo, has been buzzin’ since it’s release. The incredible music video is destined to further solidify the powerful song’s impact on listening audiences.

Determined to give the visual for “Conquer The World” an authentic feel, Mr. Easy trekked to Scotts Pass in Clarendon, Jamaica to film. Breathtaking aerial views and lush scenery set the ultimate backdrop for the video. Close ups of residents amidst everyday life repeating the ever-so-powerful lyrics “Conquer The World” offer a genuine snapshot of the community, while candid shots of Mr. Easy crooning the hit song are seamlessly interweaved.

This latest effort from the “Drive Me Crazy” music giant is a continuum of creative greatness. And Mr. Easy called on just the right person to bring his vision to light, music video producer and fellow artist, Elad.

“Elad’s dual role as an artist and video producer truly worked in my favor. Elad knew exactly how to visualize my song,” says an enthusiastic Mr. Easy.

When asked what he wants fans to feel upon watching the “Conquer The World” music video, the luminary says, “I want everyone to feel encouraged. People truly need that right now.”

Mr. Easy adds, “I also want fans all over the globe to know once they set their mind on something and put a plan in action — they can ‘Conquer The World’ by achieving their goals.”

Mr. Easy’s “Conquer The World” video is now playing across a number of digital and tv platforms. It’s safe to say that “Conquer The World” is in cue to follow in the footsteps of the famed artist’s timeless trail of hits. More stellar music awaits listeners on the 9-track explosive “Legendary” album, which is distributed by The Orchard via CTG Entertainment.

Garfield McCook Kicks Off Festival Competition for the Jamaican Diaspora

Kingston, Jamaica — April 2021 (Powerhouse Global Media/Acclaim PR) — Garfield McCook has launched the Jamaica International Independence Festival Song Competition (JIIFSC) as a way of continuing Jamaican cultural events abroad. The inaugural staging of the USA-based competition is set to bring more opportunities for overseas Jamaican artists, who do not typically have a chance to participate in the events being hosted in Jamaica.

McCook, an artist who goes by the name of Gary G and hails from Harbour View, migrated to the United States in the late 80’s. He says, “In 2017, I enquired about entering the Jamaica Festival Song Competition. However, the rules and regulations stated that an entrant must be living in Jamaica 2 years prior to entering the competition. Since I was residing in the USA, the rule automatically eliminated me.”

“I reached out to the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission via email asking them to explain the rationale behind the rule, but I received no response. I reached out again in 2018 and received no response.  I then investigated the possibility of having a competition that Jamaicans living abroad could enter,” McCook explained.

JIIFSC will be an annual event and is open to Jamaicans, 18 years and older, who reside outside of Jamaica. Artists can get involved, by completing an application on the JIIFSC.com website by May 15, 2021. When submitting the application artistes are required to pay a non-refundable entrance fee of US$150. They must upload their song in a MP3 format, and email a lyrics sheet to jiifsc@gmail.com.

Slated to take place on July 31, 2021, the premier competition will be broadcasted virtually from 7pm to 10pm EST across multiple digital platforms. There will be a limited live audience, including guest appearances, judges and promoters, at the venue, which is Caribbean Life TV Studios (CLTV Studios) in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Artists who may not have an MP3 ready can submit the application and fee by May 15, 2021. An MP3 can follow and be submitted by May 31, 2021. Groups can be 2-4 members and songs should be no longer than 4 minutes in length. Top participants can expect grand incentives, with the first, second and third prizes being US $8,000, US $4,000 and US $1,000 respectively.

“The aim of this competition is to provide Jamaican artistes residing overseas, who still have a penchant for the culture and the music, with a platform that allows them to showcase their talents. Our motto is, ‘Loving You From Afar.’ Part proceeds from profits received will go towards the enhancement of the cultural activities in Jamaica,” McCook added.

Badda General and ZJ Liquid’s ‘Barrel’ Sparks a Huge Buzz

Gold Up Music Produced Single a Hit with DJs, Fans and Challenge

It’s official! The “Barrel” has shipped and dancehall fans are going crazy over the new hit collabo from Badda General and ZJ Liquid! Produced by Gold Up Music, this musical team has sparked a major buzz, which emanates from a collection of sound system and DJ support, local and international airplay, fan love and even a hilarious challenge.

Partners-in-music Badda General and ZJ Liquid deliver a comedic lyrical exchange from the moment the infectious riddim drops on “Barrel.” The opening lyrics are so funny that every DJ literally has to pull it up and play it twice. Essentially, in good humor, but in all seriousness, ZJ Liquid challenges nearly every item Badda General has packed in the “Barrel.”

As the song continues, so do the punch lines. However, the biggest joke of all is that everyone who has ever packed and shipped a barrel to family and friends understands how selective the requests can be, along with the costs and hustle to purchase the items.

” ‘Barrel’ is doing well because it’s relatable and different than what dancehall fans are used to,” says Badda General.

“Overall, my goal is to bring content to dancehall, which ‘inna real life’ resonates with wide audiences in many ways.”

Garnering airplay in local and international marketplaces (song premiered on Hot 97 this week), from yard to abroad,  listeners are vibing to “Barrel.” As a result, many have flooded social media with their “Barrel Challenge” videos, catapulting the song to a whole different level of funny. The reenactments and skits to “Barrel” are hilarious, generating an abundance of likes and shares.

The behind-the-scenes chemistry of the music team has certainly contributed to “Barrel’s” appeal. Badda General has collabora⁶ted with both ZJ Liquid and Gold Up Music previously. Also in 2021, Badda General and Gold Up Music joined forces for “The Message.”

Known for witty, reality dancehall, red-hot deejay Badda General took 2020 by storm with a slew of smashes that kept virtual places and spaces raving. The seminal “I Wish” ranked atop DJ and fan playlists and still causes a frenzy everytime it is played. Badda General’s acclaimed debut EP “Money App PROJECT” solidified his position as one of the genre’s top acts, spawning the likes of “Money App,” “Outside” and other gems.

ZJ Liquid is without  question one of Jamaica’s most influential and innovative impresarios, who has helped redefine the dancehall. Whether donning the hats of DJ, recording artist or producer, he wears them all well. The creative dropped his 4th album “Point A View” to rave reviews in 2020, heavily relying on social media and music visuals to promote his content amidst the pandemic.

Based in Kingston, Jamaica, Gold Up Music is led by Raph (of Sativa Sound) and  popular dancehall composer Zack Ariyah. The record
label made its debut in 2018 with the release of their single “Belong With Me” featuring Jamaica’s international sensation Shenseea, which amassed over 2 million views on YouTube. The duo has produced for a who’s who of artists including Shatta Wale, Iba Mahr,  Mr. Lexx, Chronixx, Konshens, Aidonia, Chronic Law and counting.

Red-hot Dancehall talent Shawn Ice and Reggae and Dancehall’s “Globe Boss” I-Octane have teamed up for “Times Like These,” a song which can easily be hailed as Dancehall’s most inspirational contribution this year. Behind the sonically appealing single is popular production duo Platinum Kids and
Studio 91 Records.

“Times Like These” sees the awesome new collabo of Shawn Ice and I-Octane come to musical life. From the moment Shawn Ice kicks off “Times Like These” with his humbling and impactful first verse, the song’s message of overcoming obstacles becomes ever-so-clear.

“‘Times Like These’ is by all accounts groundbreaking, moving and uplifting,” declares Paul Platinum of Platinum Kids.

In times like these
Man haffi stay grateful G (yeah)

Mi know the tears mi know di pain

“I poured my personal journey and love of story telling through music in ‘Times Like These’,” says Shawn Ice. “I want each fan to know that they are not alone in their struggles and that with prayer, hope and hard work, there is a way out.”

I-Octane’s hard hitting and heartfelt chorus further solidifies “Times Like These” magnitude. Reminiscent of the classic-style I-Octane sound, the chorus pops.

“From when I heard ‘Times Like These,’ I instantly felt good about it. Right away, I penned my chorus to match the song’s inspirational vibe,” says I-Octane. “I know this song will reach higher heights…”

At the height of the covid 19 pandemic as the world shut down and looked toward
DJs and artists for a source of entertainment, Markus Wanted of Platinum Kids launched an online Instagram live clash featuring artists from across the globe, with celebrity judges such as Tifa, Darrio, Dovey Magnum, Nikki Z and I-Octane. As fate and talent has it, Dancehall deejay Shawn Ice edged out all contenders in the inaugural competition, winning a collabo with powerhouse act I-Octane. “Times Like These” is the riveting outcome.

“As the world is truly in trying times, there is no doubt that ‘Times Like These’ will resonate with worldwide, multi-generational audiences,” says Paul Platinum. “The song’s comforting sound combined with it’s powerful message, will prompt music lovers to play it over and over again.”

Consisting of brothers Paul and Markus, Platinum Kids, are behind a respected sound system and many renowned signature events (Bikini Palooza, Breeze and formerly School Uniform), attracting upwards of 10,000 patrons annually. The duo jumpstarted their entry into production in 2016, working with the likes of Aidonia, Shatta Wale, Konshens, Tifa and Spragga Benz just to name a few. Platinum Kids has partnered with Studio 91 Records for numerous productions including the popular “She Like That” by Black Ryno.

Shawn Ice is at the forefront of a fresh crop of Dancehall acts. The St. Mary, Jamaica bred artist offers music lovers a raw, yet polished take on Dancehall music. Hailed as both an artist and songwriter, Shawn Ice is celebrating a lucrative management deal with Acclaim PR and Brown Gang Management. The deejay has amassed quite the buzz for songs like “Mixture,” “Elevated” and his latest banger “Yowww,” among others. “Times Like These” genuinely showcases Shawn Ice’s versatility and artistic growth.

With a career that spans more than a decade, I-Octane is one of Reggae and Dancehalls most prolific contributors. There is no doubt that “Times Like These” will rival hits from the artist’s massive catalogue like “Love Di Vibes,” “L.O.V.E. You,” “Buss a Blank,” “Lose a Friend” and other gems.

“Times Like These” is out now on all digital platforms. A sensational visual for “Times Like These” is set for release in the coming weeks.
